The False Rajah

The False Rajah is the guildmaster of the thieves and assassins of Airspur known as the Backhanders. He is a rakshasa of some power, originally from the pre-Spellplague lands of Mulhorand where he was a devotee of Set.

Many think his true form as a rakshasa is a humanoid with the head of a black tiger. That, too, is merely a disguise; his head is actually that of a black jackal, a form he will only normally reveal to those few gnolls in his service.

Many of the Backhanders are wererats and the more senior members of this guild share a rakshasa's backwards hands as a result of a ritual that the False Rajah performs to make infiltration of his inner circle that much more difficult.

Roleplaying the Rajah:

Key Traits: deceitful, greedy, hedonistic, superstitious
Goal: enjoy the "delights of the flesh", restore Set to the pantheon of Toril
Motivation: the False Rajah is a religious fanatic
Fears: myriad superstitions
Weaknesses: superstitions (cannot be within 10 squares of a headless snake or is dazed until he or the snake is moved)

Stat Block:
